Yes it’s true.
China has the biggest trade deficit and holds the most U. S. debt.
You’re right but… and it’s a big but. America and Canada enjoy a great trade relationship. China on the other hand provides America with something Canada cannot, stocked shelves at Walmart. While Canada is the largest supplier of items such as Volkswagens, Lumber and building supplies, Beer oh yeah, did I mention beer, and soon-to-be prescription drugs (not to mention very high quality hydroponics) Canadians still make a decent wage on the world stage. That dosen’t fill Walmart shelves!
We Americans love a sale no matter what it really costs. So there is a little antifreeze in out toothpaste, so a few dogs die from tainted food, so we have a few more brain-damaged kids from the lead paint in toys. That dosen’t change the fact that I just got a brand new 500 Watt Amp for my Acura for $29 bucks!
Sure Canada is a great trade partner, but if they really want to get in to the American consumers good graces they need to stop obsessing over unimportant things like health care and literacy. Send your kids out to the factory and start making us some stuff. (Oh, and did I mention beer?)
