wow ..u trade howard wen he is a 2nd half man ..look at his numbers last year in 2nd half …russell martin is great ..but barry bonds ??? …not in return for howard ..not a good deal

depends on the league setup…martin is a good catcher and productive catchers are rare and first basemen are easier to replace. bonds may have some impact but not as much as the others

Too bad for you.

All depends on your team. Who is your current 1b?
Did you need a productive catcher? What about your OF?

Bonds will only play about 130 games. Howard is a huge 2nd half player and has heated up. Just on paper I would not have done the trade, but you dont trade on names. Remember, always trade for need.

Honestly, I think you could have done much better. Howard is an amazing fantasy player, and is worth a lot. Martin is good. Him and Victor Martinez are the top two catchers in MLB, and Martin can get you steals. Bonds is going to be getting lots of days off, first because he already does normally, but they want him to break the record in San Francisco. I would’ve tried to get Jason Bay or Vernon Wells instead of Bonds.

you should have gave them Prince Fielder instead of Howard.
But if your league counts walks youll be fine

I like Prince more than Howard so I don’t think it was a bad decision. I know Howard is a beast, but sometimes freeing up your utility and getting great players at C and OF can win you games. It all depends on who else you have on your team and what categories are needed the most. Prince will keep getting better so I think it was a good decision to keep Prince.

I think you could of gotten better people for Howard.

You made that trade….and got completely ripped off.

Ryan Howard could easily be a top 5 fantasy player in the second half. He has been on fire lately hitting tons of home runs and rasing his average up to an accpetable spot.

Never trade an elite player for a catcher and a guy who isn’t going to play everyday in the second half. there are lots of catchers out there who will do just fine. Martin certainly is one of the best but is definitely not worth as much as Howard. Barry Bonds, once he breaks the home run record, will likely not play everyday and he doesn’t now anyways. Plus if he is 1 home run short and is on the road they will likely sit him until the Giants return to San Francisco.

Not a very smart trade on your part. I would say the other person knew what they were doing and took advantage of you.

You.

I made a similar trade earlier this year. I gave up Justin Morneau for Jeremy Guthrie and Derek Lowe. But I had Carlos Pena and Kevin Youkilis who can play first base.

Russell Martin is the best catcher in baseball and Barry Bonds will help your average, homeruns, and RBI. Too bad OBP isn’t a stat for ya. :)

Good luck.
