I’m the beginner as well as I am really meddlesome in the middle in between businesses/organizations as well as the people/customers. So should I get the B.A. in Public Relations as well as teenager in Marketing, removing knowledge in both… or should I get the B.B.A. in Marketing, removing the tedious Finance/Accounting knowledge instead of PR? Basically, do employers in the margin demeanour for “know-how” or the “prestige” of the B.B.A?
SHOULD I MAJOR IN MARKETING OR PUBLIC RELATIONS?

As the proud holder of a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, and a soon-to-be holder of an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) I would say go with the degree in Marketing. Reason being though, Public Relations is a subcategory of Marketing. Some other subcategories in Marketing include advertising, sales, consumer research, international marketing, and new product development. With a Marketing degree, you will be able to lean towards Public Relations in terms of what PR firms would look for on your resume in regards to education. Plus, while going to school for Marketing, you will gain a lot of hands on experience in presentations/dealing with the public anyways, which is necessary experience to have when going into PR.
And while it’s hard at times, try not to think of Finance and Accounting as a bad thing. It’s not always the most thrilling part of business, but it is very important to know just for life in general.
Either choice you make overall will be just fine in the end, because eventually further down the line in your career employers will be more interested in your experience rather than what your major was back in your college days. Best of luck to you!!
