A small story about me: I am in attendance Colorado State University as the Sophomore after withdrawal the US Navy 4 months ago with 4 honest years of service. I am twenty-four years old.
Since I began college, I found there have been most opportunities, resources, as good as directions which can assistance me aspire to the career in investment/corporate finance. My idea is to find employment/internship with the “Top-Ten” association or the Wallstreet firm.
My options:
1. Double vital with Finance as good as Computer Information Systems (additional 39 credit hours): This was referred to by the career confidant during Colorado State University. However, competence price me an a single some-more year during college. (2.5 yrs as against to 1.5 years). I am not endangered with the money, though either the bid is value my time.
2. Finance grade with the obligation in CIS (21 a single some-more credit hours). This allows me to supplement some-more communications courses as good as some-more economics as good as accounting courses to assistance me turn some-more competitive.
3. Finance grade with no obligation as good as simply supplement the bucket of a single some-more personal growth courses, such as: modernized speaking, writing, negotiating, statistics, as good as a single some-more accounting as good as economics courses.
4. Finance with the teenager in unfamiliar language. This was referred to by the family part of concerned in finance. However, this module will extent me from receiving a single some-more courses, in that, any denunciation march is 5 credit hours each as good as each week day.
Feel giveaway to suggest something else, though greatfully insist because we have been recommending which track with care to creation me some-more commercial to intensity employers whilst being rival as well. CSU is not an glorious propagandize for business, so cruise how I competence grasp the on all sides with a single of the tip 10 companies or wall travel firms with most of my foe graduating from some-more prestigious universities (HBS, Wharton, Sloan,…).
Thank we for your time
V/r,
Mathew

I’d suggest option 3. Your core degree will be most valuable, the courses you referenced are very beneficial in the business world and will add a lot of value on your resume.
CIS is excellent, but there is no guarantee that the job you are applying for requires this – it may offer no more value than an advanced speaking course on your resume.
I would also suggest that rather than targeting a ‘top 10′ initially, you way want to consider a 2nd tier company (if top 10 doesn’t work out initially). Once you build some solid work experience, apply again – keep that your long term goal.
