The entertainment coverage universe includes well known media names, companies like Disney (DIS), DreamWorks Animation SKG (DWA) and Viacom (VIAB). also some other theatre-related ones like Cinemark (CNK), Columbia TriStar Motion Picture (SNE) and Regal Cinemas (RGC).

Other examples: Hasbro (HAS), LeapFrog (LF) , Mattel (MAT), Blockbuster (BBI) cruise operators Carnival (CCL) and Royal Caribbean (RCL) and theme park Six Flags (PKS). Electronic Arts (ERTS) is another example. There are many more examples.

You can NOT pick and choose like “oh I only want to deal with the theater stocks.” Even the analyst can’t do that. He or she is paid to analyze this diverse sector (meaning not just one type), so just be warned. A girl worked as a research assistant for the entertainment analyst at Smith Barney we’ll just call her Andrea and I would be surprised if she’s still there – it’s demanding to the point of extreme exhaustion. Lots of work especially in April, July and October.
