You’re asking random strangers how to spend your own money. Go do some research.
CD’s are safe- they are an investment, but return levels are not as high. I have a CD as well a Small Cap Equity- There are several ira/stock type accounts you should look into. Mine are with State Farm Bank- They explained everything really well and manage it for me- if there is an issue I know about it, but generally I get update 5 or 6 times a year- If you are more conservative (depending on your age will be a factor) you have several different “risk” levels you can participate in. Higher risk higher possible payoff or higher chance of losing money- Small Cap is a higher risk than a Mid Cap- I am only 22 so I took a high risk- I have no children and plenty of time to recoop any lost money. If you are older I would go more conservative in your account choice for health, family, and retirement reasons… You can always look into business investing and such but I personally have no experience with it. CDs are failproof, however, you are not allowed to touch it for a designated amount of time. Hope this helps!
