He has some-more home runs than Ken Griffey Jr as well as he is playing. If I was the GM I would traffic Ken Griffey Jr to get Barry Bonds, he is the biggest home run hitter of all time.
Shouldn’t Tampa Bay pointer him. They have been the misfortune group in ball as well as they can use the assistace of the good home run hitter such as Bonds. Why won’t Tampa Bay pointer Bonds?

If I was the opposing GM, I would take that trade in a heartbeat. I’d be getting Griffey who is out of the steroid conversation, plays just about every day, and isn’t an arrogant jerk. Plus I could get rid of his personal big screen tv and sofa that clutter up the clubhouse and make this a team again.
There is no way Bonds is going to go back to the Minor Leagues and unfortunately the Rays are a minor league team playing a major league schedule.
??…..!!…..*& – He is the greatest steroid user of all times.
GRIFFEY IS THE MAN!!!!!! Jr. in a wheelchair would have more star power then barry bonds
first off, saying griffey plays everyday…check that quote, it can be right, if he didn’t keep getting injured. Constant knee injures limits him to about 100 games a season. Don’t get me wrong i love griffey i wish he never had knee problems.
Anyways back to the question, Bonds is becoming more of a liability more than an asset, think about it, he was there for sales, people wanted to see him break the record and be apart of history, but now, he already broke the record, his contract is ridiculous, he can’t field, he plays about 80 games a season now, he can’t do much. He wanted to go to an American league team so he can be the DH,, and just hit and be Barry. For the part of why the devil rays won’t sign him….does anyone really want to play for them? they’re terrible, you forget you can’t sign a player that doesn’t want to play for you
They only wanted him for the money he would be bringing in as he got close to the record, then broke it. Now, nobody needs him. Still he cheated!!!
The thing is with all the problems Bonds is having now there is a good chance that he won’t be able to play at all in 2008 and nobody wants to take the chance of giving him money for doing nothing. As for why the Giants got rid of him, they kept him to bring in all the money he would bring in chasing the home run record – now that he has it, they got rid of him so they could use his salary to build for the future with younger, cheaper, and healthier players.
he should be picked up by someone. but people are scared of his “rumored” steroid use. plus he will ask for a ton of $$. i think he got around 18 million last year. the small market teams like kc and Tampa don’t shell that kind of money out. and the teams that do (yanks, bo sox) already have good DH’s. plus he lacks the defensive skills he once had so that also really limits him. but i would like to see him play somewhere at least another year.
SF got rid of him for a few reasons:
1. He is past his prime and old
2. He is a malcontent
3. He is a cancer in the clubhouse
4. He uses steroids and brings negative publicity
5. He makes too much money
As for why Tampa Bay willnot sign uim, I would look at number 5.
Greatest home run hitter of all time my ass.
Steroids!!!!
He’s a liability in the outfield. Remember, in the height of his steroid use, how many errors he committed in the World Series against the Angels? And that was WITH illegal enhancement! He can’t run or throw anymore. The ‘roids have really ravaged his body and its showing big-time.
Besides, he’s NOT the greatest homerun hitter of all-time. That distinction still belongs to Roger Maris. Real men don’t cheat.
SF got rid of bonds because he had outlived his purpose. he was there to draw fans to the stadium during his historic home run chase w/ hank aaron. once that ended they had no use for him anymore. he is involved w/ a federal case, questions about his steroids use, & rumors in his private life. why would the giants continue to hold onto bonds out of loyalty ??? please. there is no loyalty. it s all about the money. if bonds were to play again it would be in the a.l. i think oakland would be a good fit or maybe just maybe the yankees where he could platoon w/ jason giambi.
he will neer go to tampa bay. that’s a graveyard. he may go there just to sign autographs just to sell tickets & to say that we played w/ the home run king.
the giants say that they want to rebuild a new team of young players that will be good in a few years. also i can imagine that they didnt want the bad publicity bonds brings anymore.

Barry comes with a high price tag and when you’re trying to rebuild a team, you can’t afford 20 million a year for one person. Also, he’s getting older and you can’t guarantee that kind of money to one player unless they’ve got 5 plus great years left.
SF got rid of Barry just because of what they probably knew would happen due to the investigation of lying to the grand jury. It would be a big distraction having MLB and the US Govt. interview his teammates and practically everyone in the Giants organization.
If Barry’s current troubles were about being accused of using steroids or HGH, then he would still be on the team and payroll, but his current legal troubles are much more serious than that.
There is a chance that Barry could play during the 08 season, but it’s still too early to tell. I’d say probably closer to spring training and we’d find out if a team wants to take a chance.
HE WOULD BE A BAND AID TO THE RAYS!
