Elyse K July 23, 2010 at 2:00 am: When you register the name of your business with the state and when you apply for an EIN they ask for the name of the owner/principle plus the business name.

So if the business is registered as Susie Smith dba Susie’s Cookie Shop then obviously it is a business owned by a female.
