Go to a bank and tell them you want to open a new account. Bring money and ID.

First, check on www. bankrate.com under the safe and secure list to determine an S & L, bank or credit union in your area that isn’t in danger of going under. Once you make your choice, find out whether the financial institution has any minimum deposit amount requirements. Then, head to the bank with your ID, sit down with an account representative, answer their questions truthfully, give them the information they require and make your deposit. Viola, you are now the proud owner of a savings account!

It’s very simple. Select the bank you’d like to use, go in wait in line and tell the cashier you’d like to open an account. They may direct you to another desk for assistance or the teller may open the account for you.

They may require that you deposit a minimum of $1 in order to open the account. Make sure there are no fee’s associated with opening or having the account. If the bank charges a fee just select another bank, you shouldn’t have to pay for one.

Congrats
