bring pictures. and dont expect the landlord to pay. Its small claims court and there isnt much legal bite to them other than having a judgement against him.
When I went to court over this matter. The courts favored the landlord favor even though he was wrong. I was told that I should have made note of all the problems with the Landlord, and set up an escrow account for unpaid rent and took pictures. My advice is to always pay your rent, even if you have problems. When you move, take the landlord to court for damages and paid rent during that time.
