Any company that claims it’ll get you a grant is a scam.
These companies don’t tell you all the facts on getting grants. You can research grants for your self by just investing your time not your money. Grants are hard to get you are competing for them with other people / businesses. 99.9999% of grants are given to do things like research, education, nonprofit, science, well you get the picture. Take a look at this web site and save your money to save your business!

There are hardly any grants for businesses – established or start-ups. This class you went to sounds like a scam. Try contacting your local (county) Economic Development Center. They will have information on programs that may be available to you. Depending on what type of business you have, you may be eligible for a SBIR grant (grants.gov) but most of those grants are for innovative education or science projects.
