FANTASY BASEBALL TRADE HELP…STRAIGHT-UP…V.WELLS FOR OSWALT?

I give Wells. I need pitching. My alternative OF’s have been J. Dye, Posednik, Bonds, M. Bradley (also Chris Burke who is 2b, OF).

Thanks,

If you think Bonds will have a solid year (ie. stay healthy and stay out of the courtroom) then I think you make the trade. If would also be interesting to check the waiver-wire for some pitching help (maybe chuck james ATL or any of the FLA young arms) before you give up wells. Either way, you have to give up quality to get quality and I think that if your need for pitching is high, then this trade should work out for you.

If you really need the pitching you can afford to do it. Wells had his second best year but should still produce 30 HRs and 100 RBI’s this year. His numbers should stay about .295 hitting and if Alex Rios is healthy and continues to improve look for about 15 more RBI’s.

Oswalt should win 15 games and is easily a top ten pitcher. Only twice in his career has his ERA topped 3.00 and he won 19 and 20 games in those years. The issue is the Astros offense. Can Berkman play better with help? Will Carlos Lee help? Can Luke Scott produce for an entire year? But the big question is what the heck happened to Morgan Ensberg?

If you need pitching, you will get worse offers for Wells. I think it’s a pretty even trade that should help out both teams.

Keep wells. Don’t make the trade. Posdnick is IR he will be out for the start of the season. He is 30 years old and a step slower.
Podsednik had groin surgery in late January and could be sidelined to start the season. Consider the streaky base-stealer a top Rotisserie hog again, but his lack of pop or consistency downgrades him out of the top 30 outfielders. Also, he will be 30 on opening day, so you have to expect he will be a step slower even if healthy.

Try Dye for Oswalt… Wells is too much if he’s your best batter.

If you have to do it, then do it. But i would try and trade either bonds, dye or posednick before wells.

Are you serious? Do not trade Wells. He is a 5 tool star for another 10 years!! Dye is unreal, but the other 3/4 are pretty sad. Especially at that position.
