We are in a recession, not a depression. Starting your own business takes investment money up front. In the current economic climate, this may be too risky. On the other hand, you could save that money, work for someone else and if you do get laid off you’ll have a safety net. Either way, you have to be frugal and use common sense.

Either. You can work anywhere, but keep a look out on other opportunities or start your own business at home. I would keep some kind of back-up or steady flow of income coming in, even if it were a second job for awhile, to save up for harder times. Which is safer. That, I don’t know. Both are risky and unpredictable

There is no depression right now. There is a recession, but it isn’t so bad that it would be called a depression. Thank God.

Starting a business takes a lot of money. You also need a lot of loans. Not many banks are going to be willing to give out loans for small businesses. You will have to pay a lot of money in the beginning. You also won’t make a lot of money at first. To start your own business, you need to be very financially secure. All of the money you put into it could be lost. So you have to make sure that you would still be financially secure if all of the money you invested went to nothing. Starting a business can be very profitable, but you need a lot of money and security. Not only that, a lot of businesses are closing down. So it is very likely that your investment will go nowhere.
I would take a job with another company. I plan on starting a business. Fortunately for me, I’m 14. So when I’m actually an adult, the economy should be back in shape.
