TAXES – INVESTMENT COMPANY VS INDIVIDUAL. HELP!?

I am seeking projectively toward opening an investment association since of the documented recognition. My crony told me this would be the bad choice, since I would afterwards be taxed twice as well as would to illustrate be means to keep reduction of the distinction done from investments.

Is this true? Isn’t there the approach to get around that? Couldn’t I open an investment association as well as only keep all the distinction underneath the association so which nothing of it can be taxed as income tax? What percent disproportion is there in between association taxation as well as income tax?

Basically, I wish to know if it would mistreat me to lift out all of my investments underneath the business. If not, could it good me in any way?

Thanks the bundle,

Ryan

“keep all the profit under the company so that none of it can be taxed as income tax?”
Then how does that help you? If you are the CEO, do you think you can live in a company paid house (Park Ave., NY apartment), eat company food (or have a million dollar birthday party for you wife), take a shower behind a company paid $8000 shower curtain? Use company petty cash as your pocket change? All without taking a income taxable salary?
Its been tried. Look up the history of the CEO (Bernie Something, I forget his name) of MCI Corporation. Does anyone know what prison he is in now?

If all you’re looking to do is invest your personal assets under the guise of a company (ie. the company otherwise has no legitimate business purpose), I suggest you not go that route. You’ll end up paying a lawyer and accountant a lot of money to set up and maintain the entity for no reason. I would also suggest you not try to do this to evade taxes. The current capital gains and dividend tax rates are reasonable enough.

If you really wanted to do this, I would consult a local tax attorney with some experience in this matter. This is not something you want to do yourself – lots of things you need to do to keep things kosher including stuff specific to the state you’re in.
