the war as u can imagine messed the entire country up, so there was a big boom in industry after the war ended (ppl needed to fix up the war-torn south, the economy got moving again, etc). i dk about the profits…who gains profit from a war?…or foreign investment. usually for foreign goods back then the US gvmt put protectionist tariffs on it to encourage consumers to buy US made products instead of imported onnes
