IS MATHEMATICAL FINANCE A GREAT FIELD TO GET INTO?

I am meditative about removing the MS in Mathematical Finance after undegrad. Would I be some-more easeful from layoffs than alternative monetary professionals saying as mathematical monetary is heavily technical/analytical. It is fundamentally economics/finance – complicated arithmetic – as well as a little mechanism programming ability. Math monetary people have been the ones who lessen as well as conduct risk for monetary companies as well as investments.

It all depends on where u go to school. Given the current economic situation several state schools are expected to cut their funding for new hires so many newly minted PhDs who would normally go into the academic market will be considering entering the “real world.” Since you wanna focus on the math side, they would be your actual competition, that’s why its critical where u come from: A top tear masters candidate should be able to compete w/ a 2nd or 3rd tear PhD depending on each person’s respective experience.
