Keep the Information Sys. Mgmt but switch the Finance to Accounting and I’d say that you would fair better.

IMO Accountants can do a Finance job, but Finance people can’t do an Accountants job.

With a degree is ISM/MIS/AIS/ISOM and Accounting, you could go into the Advisory side of Public accounting, you would also be an asset to any private company, because the computer network often revolves around the security of the accounting team’s work. To me, it just makes sense having worked in accounting and worked as part of an ERP implementation team for my company, I’ve seen how vital computers are to what accountants too. I am currently double majoring in ISOM (Information Systems & Operations Management) and Accounting.

Salary is contingent upon a lot of things, like the private vs. public companies and the size of the company, but I’d guess starting for recent grads would be anymore from 35k-60k, obviously 60k being at a large public company and 35k being at a small private company.

Don’t go into a field for the money…Go into it because you love it, love what you do, and you’ll find a way to make it make you more money.
