HOW CAN I INVEST IN MY NEW COMPANY’S 401(K)?

I formerly worked for the non-profit association as well as invested in the 403(b) during my time there. How can I send the income I put in which comment in to this brand new 401(k)? I’m some-more or reduction the beginner during personal investment (obviously).

If your company 401k plan allows rollovers from a 403b plan you can do this. Many do not. If they do not you will have to roll over your 403b into an IRA.

one employee puts most of his money in the stable value fund offered in our plan. He thinks he is doing himself a favor by playing it ultra conservative. This is a poor strategy. A 401K is a very long term investment. Arguably it is the longest term investment most people make. That being the case, the daily, monthly and even annual ups and downs of the market are not relevant. All the matters are the long term trends, and in the long run stable value funds barely keep up with inflation. Try to be too conservative with your money and you are bound to end up with a cash stash too small to support you comfortably in retirement.

You can transfer it IF the new company’s plan so allows. Read the plan provisions or ask. A BETTER course of action is to roll the 403(b) over into an IRA. That way you choose the custodian and you choose the investments without being limited to the 401(k) plan’s options.
