HOW MUCH CAPITAL DO I NEED TO RAISE TO START A BUSINESS OR INVEST IN BUSINESS?

I now have $10,000….. can I begin the commercial operation with which or presumably deposit in a single which is already established?

It depends entirely on the business. With $10,000 you may be able to buy or start a hot dog stand or a small boutique in a mall, but you certainly cannot open a shoe store or clothing store. For some businesses you might need $50 million. You may be able to but an established business with the seller financing a good part of the purchase. Each situation is different and requires its own analysis.

It depends on the business. You can run a pretty decent small business with $10,000 but it won’t even make a dent in a big business. Do not even consider investing in anything that you don’t completely understand unless you are willing to lose the money. If you don’t have the skills to run a business, don’t run one. If you don’t have the knowledge to invest, don’t invest. Put your $10K into what you do understand … your education, existing debt, guaranteed income savings, or whatever. Never invest what you cannot afford to lose.

It all depends on the type business. Go to http://www.score.org/template_gallery.html and download the Excel template for estimating start up costs.
