Profit is the difference between what something casts you and what the return is minus all expenses.
So buy a house that will increase in value as much as possible. That does not mean buy the cheapest house! Buy the best location you can afford. If it will be a rental property then look at the rent income in your area and see what that looks like.
Your best bet is to stay close by where you live so that you can see it pretty often.
You first have to make your mind and be ready for long term investment. Then choose a country or state with economic stability and lots of people are buying and selling property. Study past trends and figure out what the future might be.
Investing in real estate is pretty easy once you get the basics down. I recommend that you start with buying bank owned property. Also know as REOs. Banks right now are selling properties for pennies on the dollar.
